Minister for Public Works Satish Jarkiholi sought to make it clear that he is no longer in the race for the post of Chief Minister.
Fielding reporters’ queries in Mysuru on Wednesday, Mr. Jarkiholi said had opted out of the race for the post of Chief Minister about a year ago.
When asked about the speculation over ‘November revolution’, the Minister said there is no discussion about such an issue in the party. The matter was confined to the media and some people were making statements about it, he said.
To a question on a demand for a Dalit Chief Minister, Mr. Jarkiholi said the matter had been discussed earlier and it was not new. Supporters of a few leaders would make such a demand, but finally it would be the party high command that would take a decision.
To another question on the speculation over a change of Chief Minister, the Minister said he was not the right person to be asked the question. He said he did not occupy a position to answer such a question.
