The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has kicked off an awareness campaign, urging passengers not to take cabin baggage during an aircraft evacuation.
Backed by regulators EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), the campaign comes amid a growing number of episodes where passengers have paused to retrieve their luggage or take photographs during emergency aircraft evacuations.
