Continuing its drive against errant buses belonging to educational institutions, the Transport department on Friday (June 13) fined 22 such vehicles plying the roads without proper documentation.
According to Transport department officials, fines were imposed for operating without valid fitness certificates and for the absence of mandatory first aid kits on board. Penalties were also slapped for lacking valid permits and for non-payment of prescribed taxes.
Earlier, as many as 40 vehicles from across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal–Malkajgiri districts were seized, and fines were imposed. Officials said the buses would be released once the penalties were paid.
