SCR cancels 122 trains till month-end due to cyclone

SCR has cancelled 122 trains till the month-end due to cyclone Montha. It has also diverted eight trains and rescheduled or regulated 33 trains.

General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava held a detailed review meeting with all the divisions, along with principal heads of the department, especially Vijayawada and Guntur divisions, on steps being taken to tackle the cyclone and reviewed the position of monsoon reserve stock at various depots.

He advised officials to closely liaison with State Government officials and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams to ensure safety of tracks and train operations.

Monsoon patrolling of tracks in case of affected sections and stationary watchmen posting at all vulnerable bridges and locations to get real time information are among the measures reiterated. He had also presented “Employee of the month” safety awards to the staff, said a press release.
