Officials of the South Central Railway (SCR), Vijayawada Division, conducted a meeting on food safety with food business operators on the occasion of World Food Safety Day, on Saturday.
Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Ch. Srinivasu, Additional CMS M. Jaideep, Food Safety Officer S.K. Rahamathulla, Vijayawada Station Director Sailaja, Station master Sambasiva Rao and IRCTC Area Manager Raja and other officers participated.
The officers stressed the need for maintaining hygienic conditions during preparation, preservation and in supplying food to the passengers. The Food Safety Officer directed the traders to follow the food safety norms. The CMS instructed the restaurant and stall owners to maintain standards as per the protocols and asked the officers to monitor the food preparation and supply chain on the station premises.
