Sea cucumbers seized

The Marine Police Station personnel, Sethubhavachathram seized 255 numbers of sea cucumbers from a person at Kollukadu hamlet on Friday.

According to the police, the Sethubhavachathram Marine Police Station received a tip off on July 18 that sea cucumbers were smuggled by a person belonging to Kollukadu. Subsequently, a team of police personnel noticed a 35-year-old person, Jesuraj of Kollukadu, waiting for someone at the sea shore.

When the police checked the plastic can carried by him, they found 255 sea cucumbers. He was arrested and handed over to the Pattukottai Forest Department officials along with the seized sea cucumbers, the police said.
