Seattle Kraken officially unveiled their long-awaited third jersey for the 2025-26 NHL season on Wednesday, September 4, 2025. The never-before-seen getup is an eye-catching all-black with glow-in-the-dark accents reflecting the bioluminescence glow of the deep waters of the Pacific Northwest.
It will debut November 1 at Climate Pledge Arena for the home opener against the New York Rangers.
A design inspired by the deep Pacific Northwest waters
The franchise's inaugural third jersey is styled in "stealth mode" with an intimidating feel. The crest is rendered in tonal black-on-black stitching, accented by an ice-blue outline that lights up in the dark,u00a0evoking the glow-in-the-dark properties of phytoplankton that illuminate regional waters. The design itself came from the “eerie shadows of the deep Pacific Northwest waters,” according to Kraken Vice President of Brand Aaron Wiggan, who added that they wanted to create something “menacing and intense” but also honest to the Kraken's mystique.
Further design details offer their own thematic extensions: sleeve stripes act like sonar pings layered across the forearms and on the socks, the collar features the geographic coordinates of Climate Pledge Arena and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe patch is featured in both day and glow-in-the-dark shades. To complete the look, players sport matte-black helmets, gloves, shorts and socks, with a glowing version of the Amazon logo as well.
