Sonam Raghuvanshi Latest News: Raja Raghuvanshi’s brother alleged that Sonam had informed her mother about her relationship with Raj Kushwaha before marriage and warned her.

Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case: Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, told her family before marriage that she had a love affair with Raj Kushwaha and that she wanted to marry him, multiple reports suggested.

Sonam, as per reports, also warned her mother of “consequences" if she was forced to marry Raja Raghuvanshi, and had said that she should not be held responsible for whatever follows.

The claim was made by Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s elder brother.

According to Vipin, a close acquaintance of Sonam’s family told him that Sonam Raghuvanshi’s mother had forced her to marry within their caste, regardless of her having an affair with someone else.

Vipin was also quoted as saying that Sonam had warned her mother that she should not be held responsible for whatever happens after her marriage to Raja Raghuvanshi.

Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s alleged lover, is also the prime accused in the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi.

According to the police, Sonam and Raja had plotted to kill Raja while the couple was on their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

DID SONAM RAGHUVANSHI TELL HER MOTHER ABOUT RAJ KUSHWAHA?

Raja Raghuvanshi’s elder brother alleged that a close acquaintance of Sonam’s family had informed him that “Sonam had confided in her mother that she was in love with someone else."

“However, her mother said, ‘You can love whoever you want, but your marriage will happen within the community’," Vipin was quoted as saying in multiple reports.

As her mother objected to her affair and marriage to Raj Kushwaha, “Sonam responded to her mother, saying, ‘Fine, I will not be responsible for whatever happens after I get married (to Raja Raghuvanshi)," Raja Raghuvanshi’s brother said.

“Vipin alleged that Sonam agreed to compromise and marry Raja, but warned and said, ‘You will see what I do to that person. You all will have to bear the consequences’. No one thought she would kill Raja," NDTV quoted a source as saying.

Earlier, Raja Raghuvanshi’s mother, while talking to reporters, had said Raja once told her that Sonam did not seem interested in him.

The deceased’s mother also said she spoke to Sonam about the same and that Raja never complained again. She also said the Raja was “very happy" with his marriage to Sonam.

WHAT SONAM’s MOTHER SAID

As Sonam was arrested in the case, her mother said Sonam never told her about any love interest before her marriage.

She also said that Sonam worked at her father’s company and that employees working there, including Raj Kushwaha, were known to her and used to call her regarding work.

RAJA RAGHUVANSHI CASE

Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder case sent shockwaves across the nation after a male, decomposed body, found in a gorge in Meghalaya, turned out to be his.

The development came after the Indore-based couple, Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi, who had got married on May 11, were reported missing in Meghalaya on May 23, hours after checking out of a homestay at Nongriat village, 20 km from where Raja’s body was found on June 2.

They had travelled to the northeastern state for their honeymoon.

While Raja’s body was identified, Sonam, who still remained missing, was traced in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur in the early hours of June 9. Police said she surrendered in the case.

Alongside Sonam Raghuvanshi, the police also arrested Akash Rajput (19), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22), and Anand Kurmi.

Sonam’s alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha, was also arrested on charges of plotting to kill Raja Raghuvanshi with the help of the other three arrested accused.

Meanwhile, Raja Raghuvanshi’s postmortem report indicated there were two sharp cuts on his head, one from behind and one from the front.

Further investigations in the case are ongoing.
