The Kallur police on Saturday arrested seven persons on charges of threatening and obstructing a woman sub-inspector of police from discharging her duty in Kallur town on Friday night. The accused were in an inebriated state when they entered into an argument with the Kallur SI Haritha who tried to disperse them as they were found ‘creating nuisance’ at a hotel in the town, police said.

The incident occurred when a police team led by the woman SI rushed to the hotel after receiving a complaint from the hotel owner against an unruly mob creating ruckus under the influence of alcohol.
