Seven brothers get life term in Rohtas

Sasaram: A local court in Rohtas on Monday sentenced seven brothers to life imprisonment in a 12-year-old murder case that took place in Chhittan Dehra village under Kochas police station area.

The judgment was delivered by District and Sessions Judge-10 Umesh Rai. The convicts — Rangila, Ravindra, Virendra, Yogendra, Rajendra, Ramesh and Umesh Pal—all residents of Chhittan Dehra village, were found guilty of murdering Ambika Pal, a peon at Sant Shivanand College, on Sept 16, 2014. He was allegedly attacked with sticks and rods outside his house and he died on the way to hospital. The court also imposed a Rs20,000 fine on each.
