Sharmila slams YSRCP for supporting NDA’s Vice-Presidential candidate

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila on Friday (August 22, 2025) slammed the YSR Congress Party for supporting the BJP candidate in the Vice-Presidential election.

“YSRCP is doing so out of fear of corruption cases and to protect its wrongdoings,” the APCC chief posted on X.

She criticised the YSRCP for “not opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s undemocratic actions and remaining silent on issues like Manipur violence and Godhra riots, while targeting Rahul Gandhi.”

She said the YSR Congress Party had proved yet again its hidden alliance with the BJP. “While the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party openly ally with the BJP at the Centre, YSRCP extends its cooperation to it on the sly,” she alleged.
