Details of the Shooting

Charlie Kirk got shot on stage Tuesday while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was reportedly having a heated discussion about mass shootings and transgender issues when the attacker opened fire before a packed house.

A law enforcement officer confirmed the attack was targeted. Two persons were first taken into custody and later released. By Wednesday, the search for the alleged gunman had entered its second day.The alleged comments from nurse Shelly Harmon have once more set in motion the discourse of whether those professionals should be held accountable for irresponsible use of social media. Many feel that what Anthony Kim said is right-that persons in healthcare, entrusted with saving lives, should never be celebrating death. The controversy, still unfolding amid the investigation into Kirk's murder, is yet another way political polarization and online discourse become intertwined in dangerous ways.
