Shiva Rajkumar's cancer journey to be told in upcoming documentary 'Survivor'

Kannada cinema's beloved icon, Shiva Rajkumar is all set to share one of the most personal chapters of his life through an upcoming documentary titled 'Survivor'.Announced on his birthday, the documentary will show his year-long battle with bladder cancer, which he overcame with strength and unbreakable spirit with his family.

The actor, who had confirmed in March 2025 that his health journey would be recorded for public awareness, is now making good on that promise.

Directed and written by Pradeep Sastry, 'Survivor' will tell Shiva Rajkumar's emotional and physical journey from the moment of diagnosis to the demanding rounds of treatment and his successful recovery.Official announcement on his birthdayThe makers officially unveiled the project on July 12 with a poster showing Shiva Rajkumar walking away.

In August 2024, Shiva Rajkumar's health had become a growing concern after he appeared visibly frail at a press function. Shortly thereafter, he revealed that he was being treated, including surgery and chemotherapy.
