MP for Shivamogga B.Y. Raghavendra on Thursday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and submitted pleas with regard to development works in the constituency.

In a communique to the media, Mr. Raghavendra said that he congratulated Amit Shah on becoming the longest-serving Home Minister of the country. He also sought the Ministry’s support to develop the campus of the Rashtriya Raksha University in Shivamogga.

The administration had identified 22 acres and 19 guntas of land at Thammadihalli in Shivamogga taluk for the university campus. The construction of university buildings, quarters for the staff, and other structures could be taken up on the said land, the MP said.

Mr. Raghavendra requested the Union Minister to provide funds for the construction of the university structures.

He also met Mr. Chouhan and submitted a memorandum seeking special funds for the repair and improvement of rural roads in Shivamogga and Udupi districts, which were damaged due to heavy rains recently. A proposal to improve a 341 km-long stretch of road had been submitted seeking special funds, he added.
