Shivamogga MP Raghavendra appeals to youth to take part in Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025

Shivamogga MP B.Y. Raghavendra has appealed to the youth in his constituency to take part in the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 in large numbers. The nationwide event has been launched to identify and encourage rural sports talents.

In a press conference in Shivamogga on Thursday, Mr. Raghavendra announced that the online portal for registration to participate in the event would be launched during a programme at Nehru Stadium in Shivamogga on Friday, the day celebrated every year as National Sports Day.

Any individual who has completed II PU or an equivalent qualification can enrol to participate in the event. Online registration will be open until September 20. The sports events will be held between September 21 and December 25. The competitions will be held at the village, block, and parliamentary constituency levels. The games chosen for the event include volleyball, cricket, throwball, kho-kho, tug of war, kabaddi, besides athletics, the MP said.

Furthermore, Mr. Raghavendra stated that during the monsoon session of Parliament, the opposition parties hindered the smooth functioning of the House. However, being a representative of Shivamogga constituency, he made use of the occasion to meet Ministers and officials at the government and discuss the development works related to Shivamogga and the issues bothering areca growers of Karnataka.
