Short circuit sparks fire in APSRTC bus in Visakhapatnam, no injuries reported

VISAKHAPATNAM: More than 100 passengers of the Vizianagaram bound APSRTC bus had an escape when it caught fire near a traffic signal point at Akkayyapalem in Vizag city on Friday morning.When the bus halted at the traffic signal point, one of the auto-drivers at the signal point noticed the smoke and alerted the bus driver and bus driver. The driver and conductor of the bus safely evacuated all passengers.No injuries were reported. Initial investigations suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit. The incident occurred when the bus was heading from Kurmanapalem to Vizianagaram. The police and service personnel reached the spot and began an investigation to establish the reasons for the fire.
