VIJAYAWADA: Unveiling the party’s roadmap to reach out to the masses, HRD, IT minister and TDP national general secretary, Nara Lokesh, has called upon the party leaders to be among the people for the next month to explain the government’s achievements in the last year.
He urged the party legislators not to ignore the party activists as they laid the foundation for the party’s super success in the last elections.
He said that the party is relentlessly working to achieve better coordination between the veteran and young leaders, and the legislators should take the message to the ground level.Addressing the party conclave at the party office on Sunday, Lokesh said that the people blessed them with an unexpected 94% of the seats in the 2024 elections, chiefly due to the arrogance and working style of the previous regime.
He said that the YSRCP government filed false cases against all the leaders present here during the past five years. “There was a time when, every Saturday, we didn’t know whose wall they would demolish, whose house they would destroy, or who they would send to jail.
The same police who saluted us today filed cases and harassed us when we were in the opposition. Such measures did not help them win the elections. In fact, the arrogance led them to dust,” said Lokesh.
He cautioned the party leaders to be very careful as they are in power. He asked them to shun arrogance to win the election again. He said that they should keep working to resolve the people’s issues to win their hearts. He said that he came to know about the tobacco growers’ issue when he visited party leader Veeraiah Chowdary’s family in Ongole, and he immediately discussed the issue with the agriculture minister, Atchannaidu and the chief minister. He said that a proactive approach is required from the ministers to legislators to handle the people’s grievances. He said that he had been tirelessly working to bring investments to the state, and legislators need more emphasis on the development of their own constituencies. He said that the government is working to fulfil every possible manner and in a strategic manner. "Despite financial challenges, we have implemented the ‘Talli ki Vandanam’ and enhanced welfare pensions for the elderly people.
Salaries of employees are being paid on the first of every month. We have started Anna Canteens. We are not saying we have done everything. We must go to the people and explain the development and welfare achievements of the coalition government. We are working with the goal of systematically fulfilling every promise," Lokesh said.He said that they would make women major stakeholders in the party system. He asked the legislators to consult with local leadership before the constitution of committees. He asked the leaders to complete the formation of all the committees by July 5. He said that feedback from the people should be recorded in the My TDP app during the door-to-door campaign.
