Sharing the poster on his Instagram stories, Sidharth added a caption that read, "4 years… And the pride, the love, and the memories remain just as strong. Capt. Vikram Batra (PVC): This will always be my honour." He also added the Indian flag at the end of his caption.

'Shershaah' was based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, a young army officer who laid down his life for the country during Operation Vijay in 1999. He was later honored with the Param Vir Chakra, which is India's highest military decoration, awarded for displaying distinguished acts of valor during wartime.Sidharth played a dual role in the film—Captain Batra and his twin brother, Vishal. Meanwhile, Kiara Advani essayed the character of Dimple Cheema, the captain's fiancée.
