After Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life', Silambarasan TR is gearing up for his 51st film. The upcoming project, tentatively referred to as STR51, will be directed by Ashwath Marimuthu who is widely known for directing the hit romantic fantasy film 'Oh My Kadavule' and the recent film 'Dragon' starring Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead. Silambarasan's film promises a unique blend of fantasy, romance and action. According to the makers, the movie will explore the concept of “paradise.” The title of the film has also been revealed as God of Love. The announcement was made on Silambarasan’s 41st birthday.
Director Ashwath Marimuthu reveals the paradise concept
Director Ashwath Marimuthu recently shared new details about the project while speaking at the Jeppiar Icon Awards.Speaking about the theme, he said, “While Dragon highlighted the importance of education, STR51 will explore the idea of paradise.
That said, I don’t plan to force a message into the film; it will emerge naturally through the story. It’s a fantastic script, and there are several exciting elements that I can’t reveal at this moment.”
Santhanam joins the film with multiple heroines
Ashwath Marimuthu also confirmed that the film will feature more than one female lead. He said, “Actor Santhanam will also be part of the film, and the music director will be someone you deeply love. Moreover, the movie will also feature multiple heroines.”
Earlier reports suggested that actress Mrunal Thakur could make her Tamil debut with the Silambarasan starrer. However, the makers have not officially confirmed the news yet.
Simbu as the ‘God Of Love’ in a fantasy romantic actioner
STR51 is expected to be a fantasy romantic action entertainer. Reports suggest that Silambarasan will play the role of the “God of Love.” The project comes at a busy time for the star. Silambarasan is currently working on 'Arasan', which is being directed by Vetrimaaran.On the other hand, even though Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life' failed to impress the audiences, Silambarasan's performance received much adulation.
