Simultaneous cordon and search operations held across Nandyal district in A.P.

Nandyal Police on Sunday early hours conducted cordon and search operations at five places in five different police station limits as part of its efforts to curb illegal activities and to keep a tab on anti-social elements. The police seized 67 motorcycles, 50 litres of ID liquor, and 36 quarter bottles stored illegally.

According to Nandyal Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana, the cordon and search operations were conducted in Siddhapuram village of Atmakur police limits, Maruti Nagar in Nandikotkur town under Nandikotkur police limits, Errakuntla village in Sirivella limits, and Kondamanaipalli village in Owk police limits, Pesaravai village of Gadivemula police limits. The Police formed teams and searched the residential areas and also the houses of history-sheeters, and people with criminal records.

In the operation conducted by Atmakur police, 40 motorcycles without proper documents and 21 quarter bottles of liquor were seized while eight motorcycles were seized in Errakuntla village. In Kondamanaipalli village, police recovered 50 litres of ID liquor and six motorcycles without proper documents. Similarly in Pesaravai village, 13 motorcycles and 15 quarter bottles of liquor were seized.

Mr. Rana said residences of history sheeters were searched thoroughly and the fingerprints of suspicious persons were checked with the mobile system check device. Police warned trouble-mongers and rowdy-sheeters of strict action if they indulge in illegal activities. Police also created awareness about cyber crimes, POCSO Act, ill-effects of child marriages, drugs, benefits of Shakti App and installing CCTVs and also on prevention of road accidents.

“The cordon and search operations will be held on a regular basis to maintain law and order and to keep a check on illegal activities. We urge people to cooperate with the police,” the SP said.
