HYDERABAD
The management of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has issued orders reinstating 43 Junior Mining Engineer Trainees (JMETs), whose services were terminated earlier this year due to various reasons, to provide them with another opportunity to serve the organisation.
In a statement, Chairman and Managing Director of the company N. Balaram said on Saturday that the reinstated JMETs should utilise the opportunity provided to them by working with discipline towards the progress of the organisation by playing their role as intended.
The JMETs were terminated from service on July 24 this year due to unauthorised absence and failure to submit required documents. However, a tripartite agreement was reached at between the Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, management of Singareni and the recognised workers’ union – Singareni Collieries Workers Union affiliated to AITUC recently regarding their reinstatement. As per the agreement, the management issued reinstatement orders on Saturday.
As part of this, the 43 terminated JMETs would be considered as fresh recruits, they must appear before a high-power committee constituted by the company and submit their documents, Overman Certificate, Gas Testing and First Aid Certificates.
Based on the committee’s recommendations, they would undergo medical fitness tests and upon successful completion, provisional appointment orders would be issued. The reinstated JMETs would also be required to complete at least 190 muster days during their first year of service mandatorily.
Further, the JMETs who were below 45 years of age on the date of their service termination must apply to the high-power committee and on being declared medically fit they would soon receive re-appointment letters as JMETs and T&S Grade-C. He advised all those rejoining to work with discipline and make most of the valuable opportunity.
