SIR of voters’ list begins in Kannur; writer T. Padmanabhan fills first enumeration form

The special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls commenced in Kannur district on Tuesday, with writer T. Padmanabhan filling the first enumeration form. District Collector Arun K. Vijayan handed over the form to the writer at his residence at Pallikkunnu.

“Since gaining the right to vote. I have never missed an election, be it local body, Assembly, or Parliament,” he said after signing the form.

The enumeration, which involves house-to-house data collection, will continue in the district until December 4. Booth-level officers will distribute and collect forms based on the voter list as of October 27, 2025.

Assistant Collector Ehteda Mufassir, Election Deputy Collector K.K. Bini, Deputy Collector K.S. Aneesh, and Election department superintendent Sunil Kumar were present.
