As counting begins at 8am in Siwan constituency on Friday, one of the 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar, it remains to be seen who will take the MLA seat this time.It is a General category seat, located in Siwan district, and is one of the six assembly segments that make up the Siwan Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP fielded its state health minister and former state president Mangal Pandey against Awadh Bihari Chaudhary of the RJD, and Intekhab Ahmed of Jan Suraaj.

The polling in this constituency was in the first phase on November 6.In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, Siwan had 3,11,523 registered voters, with 1,69,519 valid votes cast. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Awadh Bihari Chaudhary won the seat, securing 76,785 votes.

His closest rival, Om Prakash Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), received 74,812 votes, losing by a narrow margin of 1,973 votes.In the 2015 assembly elections, the constituency had 2,80,805 electors, with 1,57,489 valid votes recorded. That year, Vyas Deo Prasad of the BJP won the seat, polling 55,156 votes. He defeated Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] candidate Bablu Prasad, who secured 51,622 votes, by a margin of 3,534 votes.
