Six held with MDMA in Kannur lodge raid; Shuhaib murder case accused among arrested

Police arrested six people, including a woman, with 27 gm of MDMA during a raid on a lodge in Chalode, Kannur. The accused includes K. Sanjay, an accused in the Shuhaib murder case, who police say led the gang.

The other arrested are Mahnaz of Palayode, Rejina Ramesh of Eachur, Muhammed Ranees of Adi Kadalayi, Sahad of Chembilode and K. Shuhaib of Madayi.

The raid was conducted late last night (August 17, 2025) based on a tip off. “The drugs were recovered from a cupboard in one of the lodge rooms,” police said.
