Six students injured as school bus ploughs into fields in A.P.’s Eluru district

About 27 students had a narrow escape when a private school bus in which they were travelling ploughed into a field in Mudinepalli mandal in Eluru district on Wednesday (August 6, 2025).

The accident occurred when the steering rod of the bus got damaged and the driver lost control over the vehicle near Chigurukota village in Eluru district.

In all, 27 children were travelling in the bus of which six suffered minor injuries in the accident, said Eluru Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) D. Sravan Kumar.

“The injured students were admitted in hospital, and their condition is stable”, the DSP told The Hindu.

The Mudinepalli police handed over the remaining children to their parents, Mr. Sravan Kumar said.
