The Skateboarding World Championships São Paulo 2025 for park and street will begin on 4 March in Brazil. The five-day competition will run until 8 March and marks the first stop of the World Skateboarding Tour in 2026.
The event was earlier planned for Washington D.C. in September 2025 but was later moved. It will also be the first major world championship since the World Cup Kitakyushu Street event held in Japan in November last year.Many of the world’s best skateboarders are already confirmed. The four Olympic champions from the Paris 2024 Games will compete. They include Arisa Trew in women’s park, Yoshizawa Coco in women’s street, Keegan Palmer in men’s park and Yuto Horigome in men’s street.
In each discipline, 32 qualifiers will join eight pre-seeded skaters. All of them will compete for the four world titles in São Paulo.
Olympic champions headline strong pre-seed list
The pre-seeded skaters will go straight into the quarter-final stage. In the women’s park event, Olympic gold medallist Arisa Trew of Australia leads the list. She will be joined by Spain’s Naia Laso and several strong Japanese riders including Mizuho Hasegawa, Hinano Kusaki, Cocona Hiraki and Sakura Yosozumi.
Brazil’s Raicca Ventura and Japan’s Mei Sugawara are also among the top seeds.The men’s park field also looks competitive. Brazil’s Augusto Akio and Pedro Barros are key home hopes. Olympic champion Keegan Palmer of Australia is another major contender. Other pre-seeds include Viktor Solmunde, Tate Carew, Egoitz Bijueska, Yuro Nagahara and Gui Khury.In women’s street, Japan dominates the seedings. Oda Yumeka, Yoshizawa Coco, Nakayama Funa and Momiji Nishiya are all in the top eight.
Australia’s Chloe Covell and Brazil’s Rayssa Leal will draw strong fan support. Liz Akama and Ibuki Matsumoto complete the list.The men’s street competition features several top Japanese riders. Shirai Sora, Sasaki Toa, Netsuke Kairi, Onodera Ginwoo, Yukito Aoki and Olympic champion Yuto Horigome are seeded. Argentina’s Matias Dell Olio and Colombia’s J.C. Gonzalez Ortiz are also included.Practice sessions will take place from 1 to 3 March. Official competition begins on 4 March with qualifiers.
Quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will follow across the next four days.Fans can watch selected live coverage on the Olympic Channel through Olympics.com, although some regional viewing limits may apply. The championship is expected to be an important early event in the new Olympic cycle and a key ranking opportunity for skateboarders around the world.
