Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) took up an intensive cleaning drive of all the skywalks across the city on Monday. Of the total 81 skywalks in the city, a total of 77 skywalks were cleaned up by Pourakarmikas on Monday.
The cleaning included stairways, walking decks, lifts, posters stuck on the structures, and removal of waste and dust from the surrounding areas of the skywalks.
“The public is urged to maintain cleanliness while using the skywalks. Citizens are requested not to litter, spit, stick posters, or dispose of plastic covers and bottles in these areas. Maintaining the cleanliness of skywalks is a collective responsibility, and public cooperation is essential,” said Karee Gowda, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWL).
