Sonu Sood’s son Ayaan honoured for compassionate work with animals

Ayaan Sood, Actor Sonu Sood’s Son, Wins ‘Compassionate Youth Award’ From PETA India in Time for Children’s Day

Seventeen-year-old Ayaan Sood, son of actor Sonu Sood, has been recognised with a Compassionate Youth Award ahead of Children’s Day on 14 November. The award acknowledges his steady efforts to support community animals and encourage everyday kindness. For several years, Ayaan has been feeding community dogs and cats in his neighbourhood and ensuring they have access to clean drinking water. He also donates food to families who face difficulty providing for their own companion animals. His interest in animal welfare began early. In 2021, he adopted an Indie dog, later named Naruto, who had been found alone on the streets of Alibaug. Even as a young child, Ayaan and his father helped an injured pigeon they found while playing cricket, an experience that strengthened his sense of responsibility towards animals.

“Life is a little bit easier for community animals thanks to Ayaan, who is following in his father’s compassionate footsteps,” says Sachin Bangera, Vice President of Celebrity and Public Relations. He adds that this recognition serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness, especially among young people. To encourage similar values in children, an educational programme called Compassionate Citizen is offered to teachers at no cost. Aimed at students aged 8 to 12, it focuses on building empathy and helping children understand the importance of treating animals with care.
