Napheesa Collier ignites WNBA firestorm with bold accusations against commissioner Cathy Engelbert

It all began Tuesday when Minnesota Lynx player Napheesa Collier used a prepared statement during her leaving interview to criticize WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

In addition, she accused the WNBA Commissioner of other violations. According to Collier, Cathy Engelbert allegedly told her "only losers" to be concerned about WNBA refereeing. According to reports, she also stated that Caitlin Clark "should be grateful for the WNBA because the league is responsible for her sponsorship deals."

Collier claimed that the incompetence at the top posed a severe threat to the league's viability."The real threat to our league isn't money.. It isn't ratings or missed calls or even physical play. It's a lack of accountability from the league office. Since I've been in the league, you've heard the constant concerns about officiating, and it has now reached levels of inconsistency that plague our sport and undermine the integrity in which it operates…”Following the accusation, Engelbert responded by making a statement. In the meantime, many WNBA players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Sophie Cunningham supported Napheesa Collier. Also read: What did Napheesa Collier say about Cathy Engelbert?
