The South Western Railway (SWR) officials have restored the track in Sakaleshpur-Subrahmanya Road section, which saw many landslips following heavy rains in the region on Saturday (August 16, 2025).

A press release from the SWR, on Sunday (August 17, 2025), stated that the track between Kadagaravalli and Donigal declared fit for operations at 5.10 a.m. on the day. The track between Yedakumari and Kadagaravalli was restored by 6.30 a.m. and Shiravagilu-Yedakumari section was ready for operation late at night on Saturday (August 16, 2025).

“The authorities have acted promptly to restore normal train services. The tracks have been examined and certified fit for operations. The normal train services have resumed,” said Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief PRO of the South Western Railway.

The train services on the section were disrupted on Saturday evening (August 16, 2025) following heavy rains. The trains on the route were diverted as a precautionary measure.
