The plans come as the Pentagon moves to deploy over 10,000 additional troops to West Asia, including the USS George H.W. Bush carrier strike group, adding to an estimated 50,000 US personnel already in the region ahead of the April 22 ceasefire deadline.
Troop Build-Up In Region
According to the report, around 6,000 troops are being deployed with the USS George H.W. Bush and its accompanying warships, while another 4,200 personnel are expected to arrive with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
These reinforcements will significantly expand the US military footprint in the region, with multiple aircraft carriers now positioned to support operations.
