The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will be held in all the nine Assembly constituencies in Cuddalore district from November 4 to December 5, District Election Officer and Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar said.
Chairing a consultative meeting with the representatives of recognised political parties at the Collectorate on Wednesday, the Collector said the SIR, which was taken up in January 2002 in the last occasion, would be conducted to update the electoral rolls with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.
The pre-revision preparatory phase that has commenced and will continue till November 3 has been earmarked for printing of unique Enumeration Forms (EFs) and training of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant EROs (AEROs) followed by house-to-house verification from November 4 to December 4, 2025.
The draft electoral roll will be published on December 9, 2025, and claims and objections will be received up to January 8, 2026. The final electoral roll will be published on February 7, 2026, after completion of verification and Commission approval.
The Booth Level Officers, as part of SIR, would visit every house to guide voters on filling-up the forms in two copies. If a house had been locked, the forms would be dropped in the house, and the polling booth officer would visit the house at least thrice to collect the filled-in forms.
The voters need not submit any document along with the filled-in forms during SIR. If the name of any voter has not been linked to the SIR list, he or she will have to submit self-attested documents notified by the Election Commission of India to the Electoral Registration Officer.
The Booth Level Officer will come again to collect the filled-in forms from the voters. While the officer would collect one of the two copies from the voter, acknowledgement for receiving the filled-in copy with colour photo of the voter would be given to the voter in the second copy.
The draft electoral roll will be released based on the information collected from the electorate. After receiving objections or corrections, if any, from the aggrieved voters, the final electoral roll will be released.
