Sri Ram Sene founder Pramod Mutalik has said that SDPI activists are engaged in communally violent acts and demanded a ban on the organisation.
“We have clear evidence to show that SDPI activists from Kerala are responsible for communal violence in Mangaluru and other places. They need to be arrested. SDPI should be banned, like the PFI,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters here on Sunday.
He said that caste-based discrimination is deep-rooted and is nearly impossible to eliminate.
“Basavanna fought all his life to eradicate the caste system and establish a new social order. But we have confined him to a caste and we take pride in following the caste system. We are also limiting B.R. Ambedkar to a particular caste. This is deplorable. We should forget all our caste distinctions and announce that we are proud Hindus,” he said.
He urged the people not to donate to maths and other Hindu religious institutions. “They are all well developed. They do not need your support. It is Hindu activists like us who need your support. Most of our resources are spent in fighting cases,” he said.
He said that the Love Jihad prevention helpline has received over 5,000 calls in one year.
“We have resolved over 90% of the cases and provided solace to girls. Our activists trace address and phone numbers of Muslim boys who lure girls. They find the girls, convince them of the conspiracy and succeed in reuniting them with their parents,” he said.
“We are not opposed to genuine love. But we will not tolerate fake love and attempts to convert innocent Hindu girls to Islam with false promises,” he said. He said that he is confident that the evil practice of Love Jihad will end soon and the helpline will be closed.
Sri Ram Sene South India coordinator Sundaresh Naregal said that the helpline is facing several challenges like logistics, funding and legal problems. All those who claim to be Hindutva leaders do not send their children for protests and agitations. Ordinary activists like us are left to fend for ourselves.
Helpline coordinator Basavaraj Goudar said that Sri Ram Sene activists face several problems in battling Love Jihad incidents. Police do not cooperate at all times. Several times, the girls are brainwashed. However, “we have succeeded in battling all such problems,” he said.
