Sridevi's 'Khuda Gawah' co-star Kiran Kumar remembers her reserved nature on the set

Kiran Kumar credits his late friend and filmmaker Mukul S Anand for securing him the role of Pasha, the antagonist in the 1992 action blockbuster 'Khuda Gawah'. Although the part was originally meant for the legendary Amrish Puri, Kumar feels fortunate that the opportunity came his way, as it gave him the chance to share the screen with two cinematic legends, Amitabh Bachchan and the late Sridevi.Reserved Relationship with Sridevi on SetRecently, in an interview to Red FM, the actor described his relationship with Sridevi as polite and distant, noting that she did not allow anyone to get too close to her. As a result, his interactions with her on set were limited to greetings. However, he greatly admired her whenever she performed. He also recalled that their only extended conversation took place during the filming of the climax of 'Khuda Gawah', highlighting the respectful but reserved nature of their professional relationship.Memorable Climax Scene IncidentHe recalled a memorable and intense moment from the climax of 'Khuda Gawah', where he was running while Amitabh and Sridevi rode horses on either side of him. In the scene, they lifted him up and then threw him off a mountain, marking the death of his character, Pasha. During the shoot, as they continued riding after lifting him, one of the horse’s knuckles accidentally struck his leg, causing it to swell.

Sridevi’s Concern After the ShootThe actor shared that after the shoot, Sridevi got off her horse and asked, ‘Kiran, are you okay? You hurt your leg.’ I said, ‘Ya, it’s okay. It’ll get better.’ She said, ‘You should be careful. Why didn’t you get a duplicate for this shot?’ I said, ‘Madam, you lifted me up in this shot. It was great fun. Please don’t bother. Thank you very much.’ Kiran mentioned that this was the only interaction he had with Sridevi, but it was more than enough for him.Admiring Sridevi’s VersatilityKiran admired Sridevi for her ability to play very different roles.
