To empower rural women and students, the SRM Foundation has established multiple free training centres at Kuragallu village in Amaravati region. The initiative aims to promote self-employment and digital literacy among women and students through education and skill development programmes.
Tenali Sub-Collector Sanjana Sinha inaugurated these centres that will offer free training in computer skills, tailoring, and academic support through tuition on Thursday.
Ms. Sinha, accompanied by SRM University-AP’s Pro-Vice Chancellor Satish Kumar, interacted with the beneficiaries and distributed books, school bags, and stationery to students attending the tuition centres.
Ms. Sinha praised the SRM Foundation for serving rural communities. She said: “In the current digital world, basic computer literacy is essential, and this training programme will prove to be a game-changer for many.” She urged the local residents to take advantage of the expert-led training programmes being conducted in the village.
SRM Foundation secretary D.V. Venkatagiri said that similar services were already operational in Chennai and Delhi. With the three centres launched in the Amaravati region, the foundation plans to expand its reach further.
On the occasion, tuition centre educators P. Sushma, P.K. Bharathi Prameela, and Dhana Kumari were felicitated on the occasion.
