SSC hikes stenographer vacancies to 1,715 for Grade C and D exam 2025

Prayagraj: In a significant development, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a multifold increase in vacancies for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Examination 2025, raising the number of posts from 261 to 1,715.The commission had earlier invited online applications till June 26 for recruitment in various ministries, departments and organisations of central govt.As per the latest notification, 232 vacancies have been announced for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 1,483 for Grade ‘D’.In Grade ‘C’, 119 posts are for the unreserved category, 22 for SC, 14 for ST, 50 for OBC, and 27 for EWS candidates. For Grade ‘D’, out of 1,483 posts, 711 are unreserved, 190 for SC, 86 for ST, 350 for OBC, and 146 for EWS categories.Among departments, the highest number of 493 vacancies in Grade ‘D’ are in the income tax department under the central board of direct taxes (CBDT) of the finance ministry. Additionally, 175 posts are in the department of personnel and training under the ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions, while 162 vacancies are in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the ministry of labour and employment.The substantial rise in vacancies is expected to provide a major boost to employment opportunities and attract a larger pool of candidates for the examination.

Meanwhile, in another development, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has directed 24 selected candidates of the Review Officer (RO)/Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Examination 2023 to submit verification forms and self-declaration documents.According to deputy secretary, Poonam Nigam, candidates must download the forms from the commission’s website, fill them accurately, and submit hard copies by April 30, either in person or via registered or speed post.Four candidates have also been asked to submit original No Objection Certificates (NOC) issued by the competent authority along with their verification documents. The commission has emphasised strict compliance with the deadline to ensure timely completion of the recruitment process.
