Shoot schedule in South Africa
According to a Telugu Chitraalu report, the team is gearing up for a brand-new schedule in South Africa from the second week of September 2025. This comes after the makers recently shot important sequences with global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Hyderabad, inside a specially erected indoor studio. While the makers have kept details under wraps, the buzz suggests that Priyanka will be playing a crucial role alongside Mahesh in this international adventure.
A jungle adventure on a grand canvas
Although the storyline has not been officially revealed, speculations hint that 'SSMB29' is designed as a globe-trotting jungle adventure, with Mahesh Babu essaying the role of a rugged explorer. Inspired by Indiana Jones-style adventures and African folklore, the project is said to be a cinematic spectacle.As part of Mahesh Babu's 50th birthday celebrations, the makers teased fans with a poster reveal and will further share the first look in November 2025, as shared by SS Rajamouli and the star himself.
Massive scale and budget
The magnum opus is rumored to be made on a staggering budget of Rs 900–1000 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever. Initially, the makers had considered splitting the project into a two-part series, aiming for a 2026 wrap-up. However, the latest updates suggest that Rajamouli and his team are leaning towards releasing it as a single venture, eyeing a tentative 2027 release.Joining Mahesh Babu in this high-octane adventure are Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles. Actor R Madhavan is also expected to join.
