Stabbed on private parts with screwdriver, 19-year-old killed by ‘boyfriend’ in UP

BAREILLY: A 19-year-old woman, who went missing on Saturday evening, was found brutally murdered in a farm outside a village in Mainather area of Moradabad district on Sunday. According to the autopsy report released on Monday, "there were more than 40 stab wounds all over her body, including her private parts, and she likely died of excessive bleeding".Police said that the 20-year-old accused, Mohd Rafi, on interrogation, claimed that he was her "boyfriend" and was upset since she was "speaking to another man for past three months". He told the cops that first he tried to throttle her; when she fell unconscious, "he mercilessly stabbed her with a screwdriver till she ceased to breathe".Though the autopsy report did not confirm rape, it revealed that the teenager was stabbed several times in her private parts with the screwdriver as an "act of revenge".

There was also a deep cut in her neck.SHO (Mainather) Karan Pal Singh told TOI: "The accused is a poultry seller, and claims to have gifted a phone to the victim with whom he was in touch for over a year."An FIR was subsequently registered against Rafi under BNS section 103 (murder) following a complaint by the victim's mother. "We'll soon file a chargesheet in the case," Singh added. In the FIR, the complainant stated: "My daughter left home on Saturday after saying that she was going to collect fodder for goats.

When she did not return, we started looking for her. The matter reached police after my daughter was found murdered in a cornfield. We suspect Mohd Rafi's direct involvement as he used to often harass my daughter and pressured her to be in a relationship."After inspecting the crime scene on Sunday, Moradabad SSP, Satpal Antil, formed three teams to solve the case. A police officer said, "Rafi was detained late on Sunday'evening and his confession along with the autopsy report revealed how the teenager was mercilessly murdered - a case which created shockwaves in the village."
