Stage set for Vizag CII Partnership Summit on Nov 14 and 15

The stage is set for the inauguration of the two-day 30th CII Partnership Summit, being jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh government and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), by Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on November 14.

Union Minister for Industries and Commerce Piyush Goyal, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and a host of corporate leaders will attend the event on Andhra University Engineering College grounds in Visakhapatnam. The theme of the summit is ‘Partners in Progress — India’s road map to Viksit Bharat 2047’.

As a prelude to the summit, a round-table meeting with the theme ‘Partners in Progress — India-Europe Cooperation for Sustainable Growth’ will be held in the port city on November 13. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu will participate in it and later hold parleys with business delegations from Taiwan, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands and meet representatives from SPP Pumps, ReNew Power, Balaji Action Buildwell, Murugappa Group, Joule Group and Hero Future Engineers.

These will be followed by a meeting on the development of the Visakhapatnam Economic Region and a special meeting of the CII National Council.

On November 14, the Chief Minister will address a session on ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Viksit Bharat’, wherein he will explain how AI can accelerate A.P.’s economic growth. Senior officials of the GoAP and a delegation from Singapore will sign an MoU for the launch of direct flight services between Singapore and Vijayawada.

In the evening of November 14, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu will participate in ‘Reimagining Public Finance Summit’ organised by the State Finance Department and meet the vice-chairperson of Sanjiv Goenka Group and lay the foundation for a Lulu Mall in Visakhapatnam.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to interact with Bloomberg Media on November 15 morning and then lay foundations for projects of Raymond, Sri City and Indosol. He will then meet delegations from Bahrain, New Zealand, Canada and Japan.

In the afternoon, he will inaugurate the Centre for Frontier Technologies of the World Economic Forum, which will be followed by the foundation laying of a Google project.

According to an official release, the government anticipated that the CII Partnership Summit will attract investments amounting to nearly ₹10 lakh crore. To promote the event, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu conducted roadshows in various countries, including Singapore, the U.A.E. and the U.K. Similarly, Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh and other Ministers held consultations with representatives of various organisations in India and abroad to attract investments.
