Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday recalled the sacrifices of several leaders who played a key role in ensuring that many border areas were included within the State when Tamil Nadu’s present geographical boundaries were drawn.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister paid homage to Marshal Nesamony, Ma.Po. Sivagnanam, and several other leaders for their efforts in securing the inclusion of border areas within Tamil Nadu. “Our leaders showed us then that if we do not fight, we will lose not only our land but also our right to vote. Let us protect Tamil Nadu’s rights by following their path,” he added.
Separately, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay, in a social media post, remembered the sacrifices of leaders who fought for the creation of Tamil Nadu and for giving the State its name. He said: “With the support of the people, we will reclaim Tamil Nadu from the anti-people DMK and establish a true people’s government in 2026. May the pride of Tamil and the glory of Tamil Nadu resound across the world.”
