Stamp papers worth ₹13.50 lakh stolen from Gannavaram Sub-Registrar Office in A.P.

Miscreants had stolen non-judicial stamp papers, worth ₹2.70 lakh, and stamps valued about ₹10,86,300 from Sub-Registrar Office (SRO), Gannavaram, in Krishna district.

“The non-judicial stamp papers in ₹50 and ₹.100 denominations and stamps (special adhesive labels) of ₹50 and ₹100, kept in the record room of the SRO were missing on July 3 (Thursday),” said Machilipatnam District Registrar Gopala Krishna Murthy.

The Registration and Stamps Department officials cautioned the public over the stolen stamps.

Following a complaint lodged by the Krishna District Registrar, a case has been registered and investigation is on, the Gannavaram police said on Friday (July 4, 2025).
