KURUKSHETRA: Haryana chief minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday assured that the state government and administration are fully alert during the rainy season and prepared to deal with any emergency.
He said that the government is making every effort to ensure that no citizen faces loss of life or property. The CM also appealed to people to remain cautious during heavy rains and avoid visiting hilly areas.The CM was interacting with journalists at Dronacharya Sports Stadium in Kurukshetra, where he also played a friendly game of volleyball with young players.CM Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, India’s honour has risen globally, while the poor and marginalized have received direct benefits of welfare policies.
He criticized the opposition, stating that it cannot accept the government’s success. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks made in Bihar, the CM said that such statements are inappropriate on the sacred land that gave the world Lord Buddha, Chanakya, and Guru Gobind Singh.
He urged the Congress leader to apologize to the nation.On the opposition’s claims regarding EVMs, the CM said that instead of raising baseless allegations, they should present their own record of development.
“If the Congress had delivered results during its tenure, people would not have rejected it so decisively,” he said. Highlighting achievements under PM Modi’s 11 years in office, he said India has witnessed historic development in infrastructure, railways, highways, and education, while the GDP continues to grow steadily.On global issues like the Israel conflict, the CM remarked that war always brings loss of life and property, but expressed confidence that India’s strong leadership is capable of navigating every challenge.
Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana Portal from September 25
Fulfilling a major election promise, the Chief Minister announced that the Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana portal will be launched on September 25, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Through this scheme, women will receive financial assistance of Rs 2,100. A budgetary provision of Rs 5,000 crore has already been made this year. In the first phase, 20 lakh women will benefit, followed by the launch of second and third phases.
He added that unlike Congress governments, which often make announcements without delivery, the Haryana government is committed to implementing its promises on the ground.
Sewa Pakhwada to Begin on PM Modi’s Birthday
CM Saini further announced that a fortnight-long campaign of service and welfare—Sewa Pakhwada—will begin on September 17, the birthday of PM Modi. This campaign will continue till October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Welfare societies, traders, and community organizations will participate, providing services to the poor, needy, and differently-abled. The CM appealed to people to adopt the spirit of service in their daily lives.On this occasion, former minister Subhash Sudha, Ambala Commissioner Sanjeev Verma, and several dignitaries were also present.
