The Golden State Warriors ended their six-game road losing streak on Wednesday with a 125-120 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Stephen Curry led the charge with a stunning 46-point performance that reminded everyone why he remains the heart of the Warriors.

After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr had high praise for Curry. When asked about his star guard’s explosive outing, Kerr compared Curry’s importance to that of San Antonio’s own legend, Tim Duncan. The comment not only honored Curry but also served as a touching tribute to Duncan’s legacy. “When you have the privilege of watching Steph for 11-plus years like I have, you get used to this. He’s our Tim Duncan, he's the sun in our solar system”, Kerr said.

The Golden State Warriors made key rotation changes before the game, inserting Moses Moody and rookie Will Richard into the starting lineup. The move worked as Golden State rediscovered its competitive edge. Stephen Curry dazzled with 22 points in the third quarter, leading a 43-point surge that turned the game around. It was Curry’s 43rd 40-point game after turning 30, putting him just one shy of Michael Jordan’s 44.

Draymond Green also played a major role on defense. Facing Victor Wembanyama’s size advantage, Green held the young star to just 1-of-8 shooting when matched up. Reflecting on Green’s defensive play against Wembanyama, the Warriors’ forward, Al Horford said, “He takes on that challenge. He embraces it,” said Al Horford. “He’s just a smart defender. He did a really good job contesting his shots.”After struggling against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Warriors looked re-energized against Spurs.

Steve Kerr said the difference was “competitive spirit,” noting the team rediscovered its identity. After the game, Stephen Curry emphasized the importance of accountability. “Don't be afraid of changes, and that means everybody being ready to adapt to whatever you're asked to do. Especially with a team with high expectations, like, we're not going to sit in a situation thinking that things are going to change on their own…It's everybody taking accountability and ownership and keeping it real.”, Curry said. The Warriors will next meet the San Antonio Spurs again on Friday. Kerr hopes that Wednesday’s win will mark a turning point as the team looks to build consistency for the rest of the season. Also Read: Golden State Warriors icon Stephen Curry unlocks rare milestone in season opener against Luka Doncic's Los Angeles Lakers
