The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s mom, Sonya Curry, has recently endured a devastating loss as her mother, Candy Wyms Adams, recently passed away. Previously, Sonya revealed that Adams was hospitalized; however, she did not disclose much of what Adams was suffering.
Later, in another Instagram post, Sonya shared that her mother had passed away. Now, in a new Instagram story, Sonya simply shared her mom’s image to pay her heartfelt tribute while mourning her loss.

Stephen Curry’s mom, Sonya Curry, has been updating about her family to her 241 thousand Instagram followers. While Sonya recently revealed that her mother was no more, she is not recovering from the tragic loss as of yet.In a recent Instagram story, the mother of Golden State Warriors star pays another heartfelt homage to her recently deceased mom.

Sonya’s mom, Candy Wyms Adams, passed away on July 28, 2025, at 76. She was born on May 6, 1949. The cause of her demise is not known as of yet, as Sonya or other family members did not disclose another related to her demise other than her hospitalization.
Sonya Curry launched “LOVE FIERCELY” campaign for her mother
In a previous post on Instagram, Sonya shared the value of meeting their close family they can while sharing a “LOVE FIERCELY” campaign.
“I challenge you to LOVE FIERCELY💕 Reach out to someone you care about and carve out intentional time just for them. Share something you both enjoy. Whether it’s an activity, a deep conversation, or simply sitting in silence together. Be present. Let your love be seen, heard, and felt #FierceLove #LoveFiercely,” she wrote in the caption of the video where she revealed the importance of love in the family.
In the video, Sonya said, “So, I’m here at the hospital visiting with my mom and I had a thought which can be dangerous sometimes.
But anyway, what if we fiercely loved on someone that we love and they mean a lot to us, important in our lives, making them priority by being intentional by visiting them, connecting with them and just catching up.”Sonya Curry reflected on the value of cherishing time with loved ones, urging people to be intentional about creating meaningful moments. Whether it’s sitting on a porch, taking a walk, or even getting nails done together, she stressed that such simple acts can strengthen bonds. “We all have someone in our lives who we’ve been meaning to see and connect with,” Sonya said, encouraging people to visit in person — “sit on the porch, sit in the living room, go for a walk around the block, do some activity together, get your nails done.
