Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ducked questions pertaining to top summer transfer target Viktor Gyokeres ahead of the Gunners’ pre-season exhibition game against AC Milan in Singapore.
Arsenal are in need of a striker in the ongoing transfer window as the Londoners look to end their two-decade-long Premier League title drought in the upcoming season of the English top-flight.
Gyokeres has reportedly refused to attend training with his current club, Sporting Lisbon, and is steadfast on a switch to the London giants. Arsenal have already roped in goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, midfielders Christian Norgaard from Brentford, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea.

“He’s not part of our group yet," Arteta said ahead of Arsenal’s tour of Singapore.
“And I don’t have anything concrete to offer to any player who is not part of the group yet," he added.
Sources say that Arsenal are willing to shell out £70 million on the Swedish striker, but Sporting seem to price the forward a bit higher.
“There’s still a lot of time in the transfer window, and we are still seeking the numbers," said Arteta
“We are short, and we have to improve the depth and quality of the squad."
“But for now, I’m focusing on the players we already have, and I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen so far," the Gunners gaffer added.
Arsenal have challenged for the title and have come up just short, finishing second, two seasons on the trot now and the Gunners’ faithful would hope it would be a third time lucky as Arteta and Co. go chasing their first PL title since 2004, when the London side clinched the title under the stewardship of former boss Arsene Wenger.
“I don’t have to convince the players about winning the Premier League. I know how good they are, and we all want to take the next step," the 43-year-old said.
“Our job is to put ourselves in the best competitive position to achieve our goal. That’s our individual responsibility," he added.
