In the run-up to the final Ganesh idol immersion, Hyderabad police said that around 30,000 police personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the mammoth procession, which stretches nearly 19 km from Balapur Ganesh mandapam to Necklace Road.

In a joint inspection conducted on Wednesday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, along with senior officers from GHMC, tri-commissionerates and other departments, reviewed the key points along the immersion route, including Chandrayangutta, Charminar, MJ Market and Telugu Talli flyover.

Highlighting safety concerns, Mr. Anand pointed out that recent incidents of electrocution during rains had prompted strict instructions to pandal organisers to adopt precautionary measures. He also said that Quick Response Teams, Dog Squads, Anti-Chain Snatching Teams and She Teams would be pressed into service on the day of immersion, with senior officials stationed at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Banjara Hills to oversee operations.

Previous experience shows that the immersion takes nearly 40 hours. He urged pandal organisers to start early to reduce delays, and added that Central forces had also arrived in the city and were coordinating with local police.
