Student drowns in Krishna canal near Almatti

A 16-year-old 10th standard student drowned in the Krishna Left Bank Canal in Parvati Katta near Almatti of Vijayapura district on Tuesday.

Ravi Manjunath Jaggal of Nainegal village of Bagalkot district drowned in the canal when he was trying to wash his bed sheets.

He was a student of RBPG Halkatti School in Almatti.

Police officers and Fire and Emergency Services personnel are trying to retrieve the body with the help of local farmers and fishermen.

Police officers Sharana Goudar and Shivanand Patil visited the spot.

A case is being registered.
