Patna: A 20-year-old student was shot at during an argument with a youth outside his coaching centre in Maner police station area of Patna district on Thursday noon. Rahul Kumar, a resident of Hulasi Tola, received a bullet injury in chest, after being shot at from a close range.
The accused fled on a motorcycle after shooting him.Hearing the shot, the local residents gathered at the spot and admitted the injured to Danapur subdivisional hospital. From there, he was referred to Patna for better treatment.City superintendent of police (west) Bhanu Pratap Singh, along with Danapur DSP-II Amarendra Kumar Jha and Maner station house officer (SHO) Pradeep Kumar, reached the spot and started an investigation.
The team scanned the CCTV camera footage from the nearby areas. The police also found a shell at the spot.The SP said an FSL team was called to the scene. “Prima facie, it appears to be a personal matter between the attacker and Rahul. They were arguing over a video, during which the victim was heard saying, ‘What will you gain by killing me?’ It seems they had some secrets between them, leading to the argument before the shooting. The attacker's identity has been confirmed, and a team is working on apprehending him,” he said.
