After a lull, school campuses across Andhra Pradesh buzzed back to life on Thursday (June 12, 2025)as students returned for the first day of the new academic year 2025-26 following the summer vacation. Classrooms were filled with eager faces, corridors echoed with laughter, and teachers warmly welcomed students back to a fresh start. From morning assemblies to orientation sessions, the day marked a vibrant beginning, setting a positive tone for the days ahead.
Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Nara Lokesh greeted students with warm wishes. He pointed out that the TDP-led coalition government in the State had launched a special gift for mothers of school-going children through the “Thalliki Vandanam” scheme under which funds would be directly deposited into their bank accounts. He said funds to the tune of Rs. 8,745 crore were being credited to the accounts of 67,27,164 students’ mothers. He said the scheme would also cover mothers of children enrolling in the 1st class and students entering Intermediate 1st year.
Secretary, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) D. Devananda Reddy also extended warm wishes to the students for a happy, safe and inspiring academic year 2025-26.
“Let this year be a fresh chapter filled with purposeful learning, positive values, and personal growth,” he said and directed the Principals and teachers to focus not only on delivering quality education but also on ensuring a safe, caring, and emotionally supportive environment for every student.
He said students’ well-being and success were the top priorities of the government and encouraged the students to embrace this new year with confidence and enthusiasm, learn with curiosity, ask questions, and never stop dreaming big.
