As part of the Police Commemoration Week celebrations, the police in Sri Sathya Sai and Chittoor districts conducted a series of awareness programmes, appealing to the students and the public to uphold the values of service, discipline, and patriotism exemplified by fallen martyrs.

In Puttaparthi, Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar inaugurated a seminar at the district police office and gave away prizes to winners of essay and elocution competitions. He urged the students to study sincerely and aim high in life. “The peace and safety which we are enjoying today are the result of the sacrifices of our fellow police personnel, whose legacy should be carried out to the younger generations,” the SP said.

The SP also spoke about the importance of Police Martyrs’ Week and called on the students to be alert to issues such as cybercrime and drug abuse. Senior police officers from Puttaparthi, Dharmavaram, Penukonda, Hindupur, and Kadiri divisions attended the meeting.

In Chittoor, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dodi inaugurated a police band show at Gandhi Circle to honour the martyred police personnel. The SP said that the larger participation of students and local youth in the programmes held by the police reflected the positive change in the mindset of the younger generation.

The SP said that the event was symbolic of the pride and dedication of the police force and their commitment to public safety. Close to 200 police personnel, home guards, students, and public took part in the programme.
